Real Club Valderrama is a highly prestigious, private 18-hole championship golf course in Sotogrande, San Roque, Cádiz. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1974. The layout is parkland-style, set among lush cork oak, pine, and native woodland, with gently rolling terrain and a strong emphasis on precision rather than sheer power.
⛳The par is 71, with a length around 6,356 metres (≈ 6,390 yards) from the championship tees. Many holes feature tight fairways, mature trees, small to moderately sized greens, water hazards, and strategic bunkering. Accuracy off the tee and thoughtful approach shots are essential for scoring well.
One of its most famous and signature holes is the 4th, known as “La Cascada” (The Waterfall) — a par-5 with a pond to the right of its two-tiered green, which demands careful shot placement.
Valderrama has hosted many major professional tournaments, including the 1997 Ryder Cup, Volvo Masters, World Golf Championships, and the Andalucía Valderrama Masters, marking it as one of Europe's elite courses.
